Just want to update this in case anyone in a similar situation stumbles upon this in the future–
What a whirlwind. During Round 2 I emailed the principals of our top choice schools pleading my case.
We got an offer from Moos right after round two closed which we accepted. Then in June we got an offer from Mitchell, so we accepted that.
We went to orientation at Mitchell, fully planned on attending and even met the teacher. Then the afternoon of the Thursday before school starts, we get a call from LaSalle II and accepted & switched.
We were super happy with Mitchell but we made the switch to LaSalle II due to the language focus. It was a nice change of pace to have a difficult decision based on having two great options, rather than having no options at all like right after Round 1 results came out.
This process was so frustrating and seemed hopeless at times. We came so close to paying a deposit at a private school and going that route, but I’m glad we stuck it out. It all worked out!
