I couldn’t find the answer to my question using the search feature regarding what happens after registration. Was offered a spot for my 1st grader and was told to complete registration forms by the day of acceptance, essentially within 48 hours. Does this mean once we’re registered at that school, we are removed from the waitlists at other schools?
I’m aware that accepting an offer doesn’t take my daughter off the other waitlists, but the pressure to register asap is my concern. Does registration at the school remove my daughter from the other waitlists? Registering seems so final… maybe I’m just over thinking it?
We were hoping for a spot at some of the other schools we had applied to, but will happily have our daughter attend this school that has offered her a spot if that is the only offer she receives.
Thank you for any guidance!

I would personally reach out to OAE. I would not risk misinformation from this site.

@FJ: from my own experience – we went through this 3 years ago for my son in Kindergarten: we accepted a spot at a school (Disney) and went through the process of registering him. Then we got an offer for another school that we liked better, so we told Disney and had to fill out a form to “unregister” him (maybe it was a transfer form), then we registered him in the new school. And then, we got another offer 2 weeks before school started for a third school, which we liked even better so we went through the same process of filling out forms and registering again.
So we were not removed from the wait list even though we accepted & registered him at the new school each time. Only thing we lost was the registration fees ($80 and $50 if I remember correctly – but I think we could have recovered them if we had insisted a bit).
Hope this helps! Again, this was 3 years ago so things might have changed since then but I wouldn’t think so… We’re going through this again with my daughter this year and have already registered her for a school but we’re hoping to get her in another school on our wait list…

Thank you, Deltyb, for sharing your experience! Your response is very helpful.
We actually ended up calling OAE and they also confirmed that registering at one school does not remove our daughter from the other waitlists. I hope this thread will be helpful for other parents wondering the same thing.
