Hi,
Accepted seat at Bronzeville Classical, received offer for NTA RGC. Both conveniently located for us. I didn’t get a chance to tour or do much research on NTA. I keep hearing RGC 2 grades ahead & classical 1 grade ahead. Is that true? Are there other differences between the 2? I want to make sure I’m picking the best program / environment for my kid to thrive in & I know that doesn’t always equate to most rigorous. Any insight you can share btwn classical vs RGC , and NTA vs bronzeville would be greatly appreciated! I have until Tuesday to decide. Thanks!

I don’t know much about NTA, but I have a rising 1st grader at Bronzeville. I cannot say enough great things about the school. My little one loves going to school every day and is always talking about her STEM class. Even though class instruction is at one grade level ahead, students are put into smaller groups, at least in reading, where they are met at their reading level. So, during small-group instruction, students are taught at the reading grade level they can read. I have no doubt that she was challenged every day in both her humanities classroom and her STEM classroom.
Besides the core academics, you should also keep in mind what type of “essential” classes are priorities for you. My little one learning Spanish is extremely important to me, so that was a major factor in applying to Bronzeville. I also love that the school offers both music and art when most schools only have one.
