My kid was offered a seat at WY AC and will take a math placement test to determine whether he will be placed in regular Algebra 1 or Honors Algebra 1 for 7th grade. He feels confident in Algebra 1, and I’m wondering if he could take the Algebra exit exam and potentially move on to Geometry in 7th grade. I’ve heard that some students do take Geometry in 7th grade.

I’m also wondering if this could be an issue later on in 12th grade, where he might run out of AP math courses to take. WY offers Cal BC and AP stats and it doesn’t seem like WY offers dual credit math classes for college credit, but I might be missing something. I’d really appreciate any thoughts, especially from parents who have kids at WY.
