ParticipantMy family is relocating to Chicago this summer with a 5 year old who is entering Kindergarten. Unfortunately, we didn’t know about our move until January, so we couldn’t do the fall SEES testing.
We just recently took the Spring test, but I have no idea what the next steps are. Presumably we will only be eligible for waitlist spots. Do I need to do anything on the CPS website to indicate where we would like to be considered? Will they email me with test results and where he’s waitlisted? The process is absolutely befuddling.
On an unrelated note, can we confirm the test is progressive and they stop after wrong answers? I see this rumor floating around online, but is this actually confirmed to be the case, or just speculation? Seems like no one actually knows anything about the test since they are so hush hush about it.
Just asking because of feedback about the test my kid gave me. For example, he was killing it doing practice COGAT/OLSAT/NNAT2 questions, but he said he never got logic or pattern or paper folding questions like we’ve been doing. He’s also great at addition and a bit of subtraction but said he wasn’t asked to do that either. Just wondering if he got knocked out on easier questions for whatever reason (we had a super hard time separating), or if the test just wasn’t what I expected.
