Families of 3 and 4 year olds by Sept 1st: The citywide application opens April 11, 2023 for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. Explore your options for CPS Pre-K programs and Community-Based programs, including Head Start and Early Start programs! Universal Free Pre-K for all 4 year olds is included, as are Suder, Drummond & Inter-American CPS Magnet schools. Families will have a few weeks to apply during the priority application window and then real time availability will be shown via a rolling waitlist. Families should rank their top choices and will be offered the highest ranked program for which they qualify. Visit Chicago Early Learning
Any word yet on whether 4-year-olds will be permitted to continue on into kindergarten at the magnet cluster schools like LaSalle II? I thought this might be changing for the 23-24 year. While I’d rather send my child to full-day PK-4, I’d make some schools with only a half-day program work if it meant the ability to continue into Kindergarten. (I know Drummond, Inter-American and Suder that PK into K is already in place.)
What time does the application open on April 11th? Is it beneficial to do it as soon as the application opens on Tuesday?
What time does the application open today (April 11)? I am trying to apply, but get stuck on the school selection page. I see my neighborhood school choice, but I am unable to select the school.
I’m only seeing community based pre-k programs on my list. I don’t see any CPS Universal pre-k 4 options.
Looks like the application site is broken and not displaying full-day programs right now. Message from yesterday on Drummond’s googlesites page:
PLEASE NOTE: OECE IS WORKING TO FIX THE EARLY LEARNING APPLICATION TO ENSURE DRUMMOND IS AN OPTION FOR FULL-DAY PK3 & PK4 (4/11 @ 12PM)
