Does anyone know when students should anticipate to find out about the school bus/route? We chose our magnet school with the hope of ending up with the school bus this year, so would love to know if it’s actually going to happen with last year’s shortage. Has anyone heard back about theirs yet?

Haven’t heard about children’s bus routes but CPS bus shortage updates were made July 27

In years past, you received a mailed postcard in mid-August saying what route/stop/pickup time.
You need to think about what realistic non-bus options you have. Find your school’s parent facebook page and start working on carpools. Envision your new work schedule, etc…

Per CPS transportation:
Families who have requested transportation for the 2022-23 school year will receive communication during the week of August 15 to a) provide details of their confirmed bus route, or b) confirm that their student(s) cannot be provided with bus transportation this school year.

Our SEES principal told us not to count on a bus. There is still a driver shortage and the district will service special needs students first.

We just got our bus route on a yellow postcard in the mail yesterday.
