With only 75 seats available for Jones CTE, does this mean they will only accept kids who live in the overlay boundary for Jones since there will likely be 100’s of applicants for Jones CTE. In other words, even if someone has a higher score and are not in-boundary, a seat could go to someone with a lower score because they’re in-boundary? I hope this makes sense.

Pretty sure that is correct, and that they’ve said they don’t expect to accept anyone outside of the boundary.

the boundary kids get a 50 point bonus in some situations. their score is out of a max 950 actually. thats the way it works for Taft IB. I’m not sure about the Jones CTE.

Jones has never taken a student outside the boundary. Students in boundary are priority, and there’s so many with so few seats, they never will take someone from outside for the CTE. The TIFs in the overlay payed to have Jones built, so they get those 75 seats in perpetuity.

I’m confused I understand that they don’t take people out of the boundary but I’m confused about what the boundary is can someone explain what it is?
