Hi All,
A few years back, I was able to pull data from the Internet indicating the number of 8th graders, after graduating from elementary school, who then went on to which particular high schools they were accepted by.
Does anyone have encountered any sources pertaining to this particular data?
Please advise. Thanks

Hi, you could look at the percentage of 8th graders who got into the top 11 CPS high schools 2020-2024 via a table/link in this WBEZ article (the forum won’t let me link): “The path to a CPS test-in high school often begins at age 4, with a test most don’t know exists.” Dated July 10, 2024.
I was hoping for 2025 info too

I also think that the school is like only 50% to do with entrance to the getting into elective enrollment highschools. — The remaining portion is the parents and culture of the school- and sending every kid to tutors and test prep courses. I mean my daughter at alcott has been talking about getting into a good high school since 3rd grade and almost everyone sends to private test prep and tutors.. So its mostly about financial resources and dedication of parents to researching requirements needed to get into these schools. Which if you don’t have the $$ or time put to this, it puts some families at a disadvantage. unless your kid is a genius hardly anyone is walking out of a regular cps elementary, living in a tier 3 or 4 getting into this Selective enrollment highschool without using to private additional resources to help with testing.
