KeymasterThe word from some CPS high schools is it will be closer to March 30, at the earliest.

GuestWe have been counting the days until March 30, but I heard a rumor that the target date for high school notification letters was now extended into April. What’s the truth?

GuestAny idea on what time it will go live? I’m anticipating a total meltdown of the site because everyone will be trying to log in at the same time.

GuestThanks, what a nightmare this is. My kid is so stressed out, ruining her Spring Break.

KeymasterArticle from WBEZ regarding which elementary schools send the most kids to SEHS. Also mentions that Payton has about 1/3 of its freshman class from non-CPS schools. They have a search tool to see what percentage of a school’s 8th grade class was accepted to the different types of SEHS. Not sure how “accurate” it is, but you can check it out at the end of the article. https://www.wbez.org/shows/wbez-news/which-cps-elementary-schools-send-the-most-kids-to-top-high-schools/f8a51e7d-dcc5-42f5-ba24-1c357f0204a0

ParticipantDoes the March 30th date apply to academic center results as well?
-
chicagoschooloptions
KeymasterAcademic Centers are part of the CPS Selective Enrollment Elementary School (SEES) application. Notifications for those will go on the GoCPS portal on April 27 and 1st round decisions are due by May 11. Typically schools like Whitney Young and Lane do not have second round offers.

GuestHello Parents,
My daughter is applying for SEHS and she is debating between WY and Jones on 1st choice. Any insight on which school has more support on preparing the students for college and scholarship applications would be very helpful. My daughter is currently an 8th grader at a gifted center.
Thank you.
