GuestMy son was 6th on waitlist and just got accepted to WY. We had assumed the waiting list doesnt move. Now he has started his other school. Very confused what should we do. He/We dont dislike his current school. So confused, about moving him after school has started.

GuestHe’s old enough where it should really be his decision, I’d think. Help him make a list of pros and cons and talk it out, but let him decide.

GuestPersonally I would accept. Everyone in the WY AC is new to the program and week 3 is still early in the school year. Your child won’t have to stress about the 8th grade hs entrance exam unless they want to transfer.

GuestI’m curious what you ended up doing?
Also, can you share for others what your tier and waitlist number were?
Only reason I am asking – for some years now we were told that the 7th grade AC at WY and LT never get to the waitlist – they overoffer by a handful of spots, and then expect a few to decline to arrive at their intended enrollment.

GuestWe accepted. Asked our kiddo and he felt he wanted to accept it. We are Tier 4 , he got 565 and he was 6th on the waitlist. We had called and ask them in spring if the waiting list will move and they said no it doesnt move. So we were also v surprised when we got the message 2 week into the school year.
Hope this helps.

GuestWell congrats! Our kids went through WYAC and stayed for HS, we are really happy with the impact it has had on them. I hope that it’s going well – it takes some time to adjust but it makes the Freshman year transition pretty seamless.
