Hello. We are trying to rank the Selective Enrollment programs and wanted some more information about Jones and Whitney Young. We’ll be attending the WY open house, but we already missed the Jones open house. If you’re familiar with either of these schools – can you please provide some insight? We’re neutral in terms of location.

I can’t speak to Jones but we have a Freshman at Whitney Young (has been there since 7th grade – Academic Center) and we are really happy with the school. It provides a great balance of stellar academic, art, athletic and social programming.

Is it true that the Jones vibe is very artsy and WY is very athletic? What would anyone say about the social experience at these schools? My daughter will also be ranking them. Thanks!

I would not say that WY is “very athletic” – athletics are a focus but not more than academics, arts, etc. I would suggest you take a look at each school’s Facebook page and see the stories and information shared.
