Has Anyone Else Experienced This with the CPS Kindergarten SEES Test?
I’m looking for advice or insight from others who may have had a similar experience. My child began the selective enrollment test for CPS kindergarten, but after completing only part of it, they (child) decided they didn’t want to stay for the remainder. I was encouraged by a staff person to reschedule for the remaining test, but I’m wondering how this might affect their chances of being accepted.
Has anyone else gone through this? What were the results or outcomes for your child? I’d really appreciate any feedback or advice!

I haven’t experienced this myself, but I did notice a few other kids stepping out for water breaks during the test, even though they hadn’t finished. The proctor stayed close by and waited until they were ready to head back in. From what I understand, the test keeps going until they hit a certain number of wrong answers for each portion of the test, and then it ends. If your child hasn’t reached that point yet, I think it’s a good sign they can just pick up where they left off. Ultimately, I don’t think it makes that much of a difference whether they finish same day or on another day.

The deadline for Selective Enrollment Elementary applicants who have not tested yet and need to request a resheduled date is Feb 2, 2025. Last day for Kindergarten SEES testing is Feb 21, 2025 and last day for 1st-8th grade SEES testing is Feb 16, 2025. Email [email protected] or call 773-553-2060 to reschedule.
