ParticipantMy kindergartner has thrived this past year at Hawthorne. Since then we moved permanently into the Coonley boundaries. What would you do?

GuestI would keep them at Hawthorne, smaller school, proven academic effectiveness, awesome playground, some friendships already made. It sounds like you’ve been happy with it so far too. Based on my tour experiences, Hawthorne “feels much nicer.” That said, it depends on what criteria matter to you 🙂 How are the logistics of getting them to either school? If Coonley is walking distance from your new home vs. needing to drive to Hawthorne, that’s a plus for Coonley. Coonley also offers foreign language (Spanish) which is a plus in my books.

GuestThese two schools are close by, so commute is not an issue.
Hawthorne is a nicer school with higher percentage of kids going to SEHS.
I would for sure stay at Hawthorne.

GuestTechnically, it’s not true that a higher percentage from Hawthorne go to SEHS: Â https://bit.ly/3dpjuIy. That may be partly attributable to the Coonley RGC center but I haven’t seen a breakdown on that.
