Hi, we might be changing to a new apartment in a couple of months. Will the kids have to go to the neighborhood school of the new apartment  or can they stay in the current school?

      Thanks.

If a family started at a school solely because they proved their residency and then moved out of residency, then they typically cannot stay at that school after they move.  If they were awarded a spot via the GoCPS lottery or selective enrollment process, then they can stay at the school they were offered a spot no matter where they live in Chicago.  Sometimes upper grades or less crowded grades can ask the principal if there is room for their students to stay, so there may be a case by case basis to stay.
