CPS has opened the rolling waitlist but no anything offered. Is there any chance to get an offer at all?

I thought I clicked on the rolling waitlist option for several places, but those places then disappeared from the list of schools altogether.  I know it sort of worked, because I am supposedly on the wait list for one of those schools, but  I am unsure whether I successfully applied to the waitlist for the other schools or not.

Every morning the waitlist reshuffles, according to website. So if you login this morning, you should see new waitlist numbers.

Our SEL waitlist numbers stayed the same at Jones and WY – at Payton, went down on list by 4.

We do now get to see waitlist numbers for Choice schools though.

Curious to know if rolling waitlist is still sorted by tiers, for both choice and SEL. Anyone know?

Definitely for SE, the waitlists are sorted by Tiers.  So for example, if you are Tier 3, an offer would have to be declined by a Tier 3 student in order for you to move up on the waitlist because they will offer the open seat to #1 on the waitlist from Tier 3.

When the rolling waitlist was originally posted, we moved up a few spaces on all the selective enrollment list but our Choice school was consistent (at 3). That was the case until I rechecked late last night when we actually moved down a slot from three to four. I emailed the school to ask about this since I have no idea why / how it would happen.

I think this process is horrible!  Getting your hopes up then actually getting demoted on the waitlist is ridiculous.

Is your Choice school a points-based program?

Yes, as kids add themselves to waitlists, you can be demoted if those kids have overall scores higher than your kid’s score. Reshuffles every night.

Most likely moved down when someone joined the waitlist for the school. Students were able to join when rolling waitlist opened up. Kids who may not have gotten into the schools they applied for were able to join which means positions shifted depending on scores, I believe.
