DD test score:
reading 99.9
math 61
wi there any chance to classical school for second round or third round?
-
Mom2twoGuest
The cut off score I believe is 75, but if there are seats open at Classical schools you could potentially get an offer. The chances are slim, so I would look at other options. If you do get a late offer at a school great, but don’t wait for it.
-
PetraGuest
You could probably expect an offer to Bronzeville or Poe with those scores, and maybe also McDade. I’m nearly certain you won’t receive an offer from Decatur or either of the Skinners, though.

What Tier?
-
VickyGuest
tier 2

<p style=”text-align: left;”>Any thoughts on Bronzeville vs Poe? Was offered Poe (3rd choice) Bronzeville was 2nd choice

update:
Second round status:waitlist
Does that means it’s a chance to get a offer from those school? Because first round is Not offer?
-
XanderGuest
Waitlist status for round 2 skinner north. What does that mean? There is no number attached to the waitlist
-
VickyGuest
<p style=”text-align: left;”>I have no idea either. I have four schools in waitlist (SN SW Decatur mcdade)

-
ClaireGuest
I think the 2 means second round. Mine all say 2.
-
-
ClaireGuest
I have the same question. The email says the waitlists are sorted in descending score order and I don’t even understand what that means. My list appears to be sorted alphabetically.
-
PetraGuest
I could totally be off base here, but my guess is that it’s students that are ranked in descending-score order, and that would only be visible on the back-end. If the next round of SEES offers is going out today, and you don’t happen to get one, then CPS needs to wait for the accept/decline/withdraw deadline for this batch of offers to pass before they can make new offers. Current waitlists will be reshuffled depending on the scores of those who decline but keep holding out for a different/preferable offer (so a student who isn’t currently on a waitlist, but rather has an outstanding offer, will be shuffled back into school waitlists if they happen to decline their current offer).

My understanding is your child is placed on the list according to their score. Highest first then moving down until the cutoff is reached which is 50/50
-
MOMGuest
A second email says the application process will open today 6/8/22 by 5pm. Does this mean it’s already open and OR it’s still updating where lists can change?… My kid’s list does seem like it’s in alpha order.

The email I read said that it opens on the 16th. That is when principals will make decisions
-
MOMGuest
Thank you! You are correct. I confused the Choice email with the SEES emails. So does this mean, the SEES offers will start on the 16th? none today?
-
ChimamaGuest
Where does it say the 16th for SEES schools?

So is everybody in the waitlist for those schools which you choose? Or some school already said “ not offer” in second round? Just wanted know.
-
MOMGuest
I noticed these were the schools from Round 1 for which my kid got “Not Offerred” Now in Round 2 those schools are on waitlist. I wonder if these waitlists will actually have open spots. Some principals already know there are no open spots but there’s still a waitlist assigned.
-
MOMGuest
In round 2 I do not see Not Offerred yet. Confusing.
-
VickyGuest
the RCG school didn’t show on waitlist . Only classical school. Probably my DD RCG score not higher enough? So confusing.

PDGuest
Did anyone receive Round 2 offers today?
-
JMSGuest
If you are able to select a waitlist option for an RGC, does that mean that their score was high enough to be accepted?
-
VickyGuest
Does anyone know what is These waitlists are sorted in descending score order means? I wonder if they Sort by Total score? How do they sort if same total score but different score of reading and math?
-
RubbieGuest
Watch the your go.cps.edu account and watch email and phone for SEES waitlist offers. I think later rounds you have only 2 days to accept/ decline
Not sure did anyone get an offer today?
-
RubbieGuest
We accepted our first round SEES offer. Just curious on second round process to help others. Seems like second round is taking longer

QUESTION:
if you accept an offer to one of the schools you requested, does that automatically take you off of all the other waitlists that you’re on?
-
PetraGuest
If you accept an SEES offer, that will take you off all SEES (Classical & RCG) waitlists. You will remain on Choice waitlists unless you withdraw.
If you accept a Choice offer, you will remain on ALL waitlists (again, unless you withdraw).
-
RubbieGuest
Right if you accept a Classical or RGC first round you’re taken out of 2nd round for SEES but not for Choice schools.
I was just curious if 2nd round SEES happened for those that did not receive or accept a 1st round acceptance for SEES (Classical or RGC)?

Can anyone share if they received Round 2 offers for Skinner North or Decatur? Need some idea on the current score they are offering off the waitlist. Thanks. (Tier 3)
-
KindermamaGuest
Anyone know timing & mode of notification for SES 2nd round? It’s today right?
-
cps thoughtsGuest
It’s sort of staggered based on when schools decided to make their offers. Offers go live on the GoCPS website at 8 am. You should receive a robocall and automated CPS email that tells you to check your account. Schools also generally send out their own communications.
I heard Edison, Bell, Lenart, McDade, Poe, Beasley, and Morton offers went live on Friday at 8 am; Bronzeville and Skinner North went out today at 8 am. Decatur, Pritzker, and maybe also Skinner West offers probably won’t show up until Wednesday at 8 am at the earliest.
-
VickyGuest
Do you know if there is third round coming?
-
cps thoughtsGuest
Yes, but not sure on timing. Some schools may just continue to make offers as needed (i.e. after previously issued offers either expire or get declined). Some will hold off until after July 4. I think Tier will stop being considered around July 15.
