GuestHello families – looking for guidance between Skinner West Classical vs Pritzker RGC. Both are selective enrollment programs in large neighborhood schools. Which would would you recommended? Logistically we can make both work, but Pritzker would be more convenient. Looking for guidance on (1) academics (2) extra curricular activities in after care (3) community feel

GuestHi! My daughter is in kindergarten at Skinner West, going to Grade 1 in the autumn. I am also the “Room Mom” , meaning I volunteer in class and organize parties and different other things. What would you like to know? 😊

GuestHi Val
Is it true they’re getting rid of the classical program teachers at Skinner west? My son just heard that from his classical teacher that there were budget cuts and new teachers would likely be fired first and that classical classrooms would merge with others.
Do you know any more about that? I haven’t seen any comms from Dr. Bush but wouldn’t be surprised if I missed it.

GuestThis is alarming – hoping Val can provide some information!

GuestThere happens to be Skinner West LSC Meeting tonight. Even if they are making changes to the classical program, it’s wild to me that this is how a teacher chooses to share that information.

GuestThere is a budget shortage that is not unique to Sinner West. There was no talk of getting rid of the classical program to close the budget gap. I will be logging in to listen to the budget meeting when its scheduled to hear the information first hand.
