GuestHi,
I have started researching neighborhood and magnet elementary schools. I have a child starting Kindergarten and am looking for a school with a strong emphasis in social emotional learning. Any recommendations?
Thanks so much!

GuestIf your child is bright, send your child to gifted. They have more resources to support. Also, look into a Magnet/neighbor school that emphasizes Art.
Social-Emotional learning does not really the main course in grade school. It is more for Early Childhood education, especially before first grade.
If you are talking about children’s social-emotional support, all CPS schools have it to a different degree, but selective enrollment schools and magnet schools have more resources than the neighbor school, such as psychologists, social workers, and counselors.
It is best to attend an open house in the fall, or tour the school, even if it is virtual.
Good luck with your search.

ParticipantLook into Lasalle 2 Magnet school. They have very fun, active and involved counselor there. My daughter just finished K in there.
