GuestI’ve been researching HSPT scores for Chicago area Catholic schools as well. From what I’ve gathered, the score ranges can vary significantly by school and year.
For Loyola Academy, I’ve heard they typically look for composite scores in the 80th percentile or higher, though they do consider the whole application including grades, recommendations, and extracurricular activities.
St. Ignatius and DePaul College Prep tend to have slightly different ranges. St. Ignatius often emphasizes the math and reading sections particularly strongly.
Has anyone heard about whether these schools are becoming more competitive post-pandemic? I’ve noticed that application numbers seem to be up at many private schools in the area.
Also, does anyone know if these schools offer test prep resources or if families are using outside tutoring? I’d love to hear about experiences from parents who have gone through this process recently.
Good luck to everyone applying!
