Post any discussion of SEHS Principal’s Discretion in this thread.
The process opens 3/21/22 at 9am and closes on 4/1/22 at 5pm via the online application. Results will be received on 4/22/22 and deadline to accept is 4/29/22. From the bottom of this page https://go.cps.edu/high-school/selection
“Principal Discretion is the process that allows Selective Enrollment High School principals to fill a designated number of seats, outside of the regular selection process, based on information provided through Application Packages submitted by students.
The Principal Discretion application period for the 2022-2023 school year opens in the spring after Round 1 offers are released. Students can only apply through Principal Discretion to a school they had previously applied to in Round 1.
PRINCIPAL DISCRETION
The Principal Discretion Handbook is added below for your review prior to the opening of the window. The handbook provides step-by-step instructions for submitting a Principal Discretion Application Package and contains the guidelines and requirements for the process.
Application Packages are submitted online, and detailed instructions will be provided to help you with the submission process. If you are unable to submit your package online or have any questions, please contact the Office of Access and Enrollment at 773-553-2060, weekdays between 8 am and 5 pm, or email [email protected].”

Has anyone tried to upload to the portal. I wanted to delete something and add additional documents and it appears to delete, but when I go back in it just appears as if I have added even more documents, past the 10 page limit!

Does anyone know when the letters will go out for CPS academic centers?

Those are released at the same time as Elementary results. I called OAE this week to see if they had any idea on a timeline and they said, “April sometime; probably late April.”

I thought that GoCps pushed the deadline for Principal Discretion back to that following Monday after 4/1/2022

Hi. for the PD application. Can you tell me where you see the application submitted on the gocps account.
I don’t see it but received confirmation and have the screenshot. I am assuming cps is working on loading, etc. so the site is not fully viewable. thanks.

Same, I don’t see any indication of offered/declined through PD in the results page

I was told by OAE rep earlier this week that unless you receive a PD offer, your results page will not change. I would take this information with a grain of salt though, since i’ve asked other questions and been given incorrect information. If I were to guess, i’d say they will follow timeline of regular results release, so after school day ends at earliest.

I called and was told the results would be up at 5pm on the GOCPS website, and that a button would go live at that time.

I was also told 5pm today by CPS. They also said that every family would get an email at that time letting them know if they got an offer or not.

We received two emails. One from Lane Tech & one CPS Office of Access and Enrollment.

Anyone get a response for any school other than Lane? Everyone I’ve reached out to that has received a response was a Lane applicant. We applied to Whitney and received nothing 🙁

My kid got a PD offer from Jones. Email came around 4:45. GoCPS showed after 5pm.

We got a pd offer from Jones. We accepted. Email came at 4:40ish and showed up on gocps after 5. Friend heard around the same time- did not get into Whitney.

Just heard from other friends. Two did not get into Jones. Two did not get into Lane. One friend did get into Northside.

3down1, same here. What is your (kid‘s) reasoning? Just curious because both are great school.

She knows more students at WY, and she was looking for a fresh start. She also is not a huge fan of Dr.Kenner, so with the upcoming announcement she is a little hesitant. Jones would be an easier commute as well. I also have a student at the NTA RGC so that had us leaning Jones.
