CPS will release elementary school offers for any programs applied to via the GoCPS applications (SEES & Choice Programs) as follows:

      • APRIL 11th, 2025 – Results Released
      • MAY 2nd, 2025 – Accept/Decline Deadline
      • MAY 19th, 2025 – Rolling Waitlist Process Opens
      • 2 BUSINESS DAYS AFTER OFFER ISSUED – Waitlist Accept/Decline Deadline

Please feel free to post results to share. Applicants may be offered one Selective Enrollment ES offer (if applicable) and one Choice offer. Their neighborhood school is always available for them to attend at any time.

Comment below about your child’s magnet, magnet cluster or open enrollment offers. Good luck!

Anyone know how to navigate a choice offer we like, and a reasonably high SEES waitlist? I have a #2 and a #12 but am wondering how to stay on that waitlist while not losing the choice offer.

IIRC, if you accept a choice offer you can still be on the waitlist for a test-in school but you do need to manually add yourself back to the waitlists after May 2nd.

        Don’t quote me on that.

Here is information on the Rolling Waitlist process: https://www.cps.edu/gocps/elementary-school/results/rolling-waitlist/
For choice programs, your student will remain on a waitlist for any program ranked higher than the one they were offered. Waitlists move until January and waitlist numbers can go up or down depending on priority categories (i.e. siblings for Choice programs are higher priority than unaffiliated students).

Hi! Trying to understand and navigate this years results. I believe this year 24/25 it’s new in the fact that we ranked our choice and magnet schools and therefore if received an offer, were not put on the wait-list for schools below. Is that correct?

My daughter got into Hawthorne for K which is so exciting but then we couldn’t see any wait-list numbers at any other school. I’m 98% sure we are accepting our offer, but if we didn’t, do we go to the bottom of the wait-list at all the schools?

She has an older brother we have been trying to get in for the last 3-4 years. He was waitlisted this year. So the following year if my daughter was in Hawthorne, would my son go to the top of the list? Hawthorne does have sibling preference.

Anyone have info on how much non-entry grade waitlist for Stone typically moves?

      Hi everyone,

I’m a first-time mom who recently moved to Chicago, and I’m feeling anxious about my son’s school placement. He didn’t get into any schools we applied for, and I’m worried about making the right decisions for him.

#41 on Hawthorne’s proximity preference waitlist

What are the chances of moving up the waitlist for Hawthorne?

I appreciate any advice and help. Thank you!

I’m sorry to tell you this, but the proximity waitlist at Hawthorne doesn’t move much. We were 13th on the proximity waitlist two years ago for K entry, and it only moved 4 spots by the end of the summer.

Do you have any insight as to the Tiered waitlists at Hawthorne (for K)?

      Hi all,

We received an offer for Stone (for K) but would otherwise be in Ravenswood attendance boundaries. Does anyone have input between these schools or had to make the decision between them? Any info would be great. We are touring Stone this week, but realistically may be declining the offer but want to make sure we look into it before we do!

Stone is great. I heard great things about it. Very solid resources, specialists and differentiation in classes.

If we accept a choice school offer, can we still change our minds this summer and go with our neighborhood school (Courtenay)?

Hi, does anyone know if Blaine Elementary offers Spanish language classes? As a special/essential/elective — whatever they call them.

Hi, all! First time through this process.

We received a #8 General Waitlist for the school we applied to. If the deadline for initial decisions is May 2, might we see that position move on May 3? Or will there be no movement at all until May 19? I wasn’t clear on that.

      Thanks in advance!
