GuestCan anyone tell me what their experience was like taking the test with allowed disability accommodations? My child has extended time and it is noted on their test ticket and 504 plan. However no one has contacted us from the testing office and we just scheduled the test as normal through gocps. Will they allow the accommodations when we show up? If so how, since the test is administered in a group setting with the standard test parameters? What should we do if we show up on test day and the accommodations are denied or just not provided? Should we take the test anyway or decline and call OAE? Just want to plan ahead as I know this is often an issue.

GuestIf your student has accommodations noted in their test ticket, then the session you booked is specifically for students with the same primary accommodation. It will have a smaller capacity than non-accommodation sessions. If your student gets extra time, so will all the other students testing with them.
You can email gocpstestingteam@cps.edu if you have concerns, but if your plan is through CPS, no one would need to reach out to you about it (it’s already on file/accessible to them).

ParticipantMy child has a 504 and when they took the Regional Gifted exam, it was in a different building, there were only 5-6 kids in each group, everyone there had an IEP or 504, and they had 15 minutes to complete each section vs. the usual 10.

ParticipantYes, it specifies a 50% extension in testing time.
