Families who missed applying to the first round of CPS elementary and high school programs for 2020-2021 can request to be put into CPS’s application system by filling out their CPS Student ID request form.

In order to apply online in the second round for the 2020-2021 school year to Choice Elementary Schools for grades K-8, or to ninth grade to programs without NWEA MAP eligibility requirements, your child must have a CPS ID number. Hi, My daughter’s birth day is 11/23/2015. I’d like to get her in the Kindergarten. When should we request the Student ID for her? And when should we apply for the selective program and take the exam?
The traditional cutoff for attending Kindergarten is 5 by Sept. 1st. For Fall birthdays, students who want to have “accelerated placement” need to take part in the evaluation process which is outlined here: https://go.cps.edu/accelerated-placement At this late date, no selective enrollment schools are available for this fall using that process but the fall 2021 application opens up this fall 2020.
